CNC Engraving on a Panasonic Laptop Using Vision Max Pro
Engraving on a Panasonic Laptop with a Vision Engraving and Routing Systems Max Pro Engraver. We added Oxidizer to make the engraved area pop out. This is a great way to mark you laptop with your logo or company name for security reasons. It wont come off compared to a sticker or painted marking. Also it’s a deeper engraving compared to a laser marked area. So the engraved area wont fade over time.

My DIY CNC engraving a simple flower shape.

How do you create a pass-thru via on a double sided pcb? A milling machine and chemical etching is available.?
Conductive vias are created by electroless plating process. This means no electrodes and electricity are used. Once all holes (both component and vias) are drilled, the pcb is then except for the holes. Then they are dipped into a super saturated copper depositing solution for hour or two. All exposed part of the pcb precipitates and deposits thin film of copper (inner walls of the holes). Unless you are making them in quantities, NRE cost is not justifiable for few boards. Unless you have the proper equipment (photo masking) and chemicals (you may find a supplier on the web) for more than one time use, it’s cheaper in the long run to have a PCB manufacturer to make you prototype quantities. Some small time operations are fairly inexpensive. If you are building a prototype, you might consider spot weld wiring. You just spot weld a wire from a pad on side A and the destination pad on side B.
